Whether it’s dating or Life and Identity, there is one recurring question: “What do you want the next chapter of your life to look like, once you give yourself permission to choose you?”
Mia Fields is a Dating & Relationship Strategist, Life Rebrand Expert, founder of The Emergent Woman® and creator of Life After NO®.
Her work focuses on two areas women recognize immediately: the relationships they choose and the lives they build.
On dating, Mia is known for her work around situationships and The Unofficial Girlfriend™, including why smart, accomplished women can find themselves deeply invested in relationships that have closeness but no shared direction.
On life, she speaks about women over 40, cultural conditioning and societal expectations and what happens when the capable, dependable woman begins asking:
“What do I truly want for my life now?”
Mia is available for television and radio interviews, podcasts, print and digital features, expert commentary, panels and selected speaking engagements
Situationships, The Unofficial Girlfriend™ and What He Is Actually Offering
Why does an intelligent woman stay in a relationship she already suspects isn’t going anywhere?
Why does “I don’t want anything serious” sometimes become “I don’t want anything serious right now” in her mind?
And how can a man genuinely enjoy being with a woman without intending to build a future with her?
These are some of the questions at the centre of Mia’s dating and relationship work.
Her concept of The Unofficial Girlfriend™ describes a dynamic many women recognize but struggle to name: giving relationship-level access, including time, intimacy, emotional labour, availability and loyalty, without a shared relationship decision or getting relationship-level security.
Mia brings practical distinctions to conversations about modern dating, including attention versus intention, chemistry versus compatibility and potential versus progress.
She also teaches the Five Cs of Dating: Chemistry, Compatibility, Clarity, Consistency and Commitment, giving audiences a practical way to examine what is present in a connection and what may be conspicuously absent.
Her approach to situationships is direct without blaming women for finding themselves in one. Hope, loneliness and emotional investment can change how even a highly capable woman interprets what she sees and hears.
The question Mia brings her back to is simpler:
What is he actually offering you?
Mia helps women avoid the unnecessary heartbreak of situationships and recognise whether a man is serious and ready for a real relationship before they become emotionally invested.
Life After NO® is Mia’s body of work, primarily for women over 40 who have spent years being capable, responsible and needed then reached the point of asking, “What do I truly want for my life now?”
This is the woman Mia speaks about often – she is capable, dependable and accustomed to being the one who gets things done.
For many years, cultural conditioning and societal expectations may have rewarded her for being agreeable, accommodating and available. She learned to keep the peace, carry more because she could and say yes even when she wanted to say no.
Then she reaches a stage in life where the rules she has lived by begin to feel less convincing.
Is this genuinely the life I want?
What do I truly want for my life now?
Through The Emergent Woman® and Life After NO®, Mia explores what happens when women over 40 begin questioning the roles and expectations that shaped their decisions.
Her work connects the larger identity question with something extremely practical: the ability to say no.
The Comfortable NO™ examines why capable women can find it so difficult to say no without guilt, fear or apology and why other people’s comfort so often becomes part of a woman’s decision.
Across these conversations, Mia returns to one central idea:
Give yourself permission to choose you.
